Nike Women's Metcon 2 Crossfit Training Shoe
This is my first pair of crossfit specific shoes--I read lots of reviews, looked at many different shoes, and decided on this pair. Overall, I am very pleased. My running shoes are 1/2 size bigger than I normally wear, so I bought these in the equivalent size....honestly these are a tad bit small on one foot, but I didn't want to send them back so I kept them. Please keep in mind, there is a severe difference in crossfit shoes vs walking and running shoes---so do not expect a cushiony shoe. .These are designed for a specific sport....so, as far as crossfit goes, these are great. I started using my running shoes, and was having issues with balance and keeping my heels dug into the floor - a key factor in many moves. Once I put these on, it was no longer a problem. They are designed to support the tasks of weightlifting, box jumps, etc. My ability to perform these moves has improved greatly now that I have the right equipment on my peds. They do the job for any sprinting portion of a METCON--but as I said, they are NOT running shoes so will feel different in that regard. As for the style/color--very eye-catching, lovely shoe. I've seen several other gals at the gym sporting this same shoe as well !I had bought my Nike metcons at the local Nike outlet for a good deal. Unfortunately they didn't have a size for my wife. So I went ahead and ordered online. The shoe fit perfectly. Came with a extra set of laces in Nike box. Had no issues with the shoes. They are not great for running long distance but who does that? Cardio? Lol, LIFT FASTER! These shoes are for gains! The shoe has a flat bottom. Inside has supoort. It's not really flat inside, super light shoe. The sole has a little spring to it. It's not a big amount. These are great for box jumps, Deadlifts. Anything really. I would recommend these shoes for someone who wants a good gym trainer shoe. I like the color combos and the sole grip. I never liked Nike shoes until now. Thanks! The seller I purchased from had fast shipping and the best price too! GET THOSE GAINS!These shoes fit well and are good for crossfit-type activity. Sturdy, lightweight, and the laces are strong and rarely come untied because they are thick material. I LOVE the glacier blue color that I ordered. THey are a super subtle blue/grey paired with a darker smokey blue grey. The sole is ALMOST a hint of pink.... They are so pretty and match all my workout clothes! THe only reason I rated these shoes 4 stars instead of 5 is that the very back of the shoe feels a little short on my heel. They don't slide at all...but it just feels that they should come another half inch or so up the back of my heel.I am very happy with these shoes. I crossfit, and have been diligently hauling multiple pairs of shoes to the gym, switching them out when doing lifts, then putting on other shoes for running, box jumps, jump rope, etc. These have solved that issue. I no longer need to worry about shoes that provide the stability needed for power lifts and oly lifts while maintaining comfort during runs or jumping. I will still use my lifting shoes when working on PRs during bar lifts, and will wear my running shoes for strict running WODs. But for regular couplet or triplet workouts, these are working brilliantly. They do run a smidge wide I think, but definitely not a deal breaker. I have slightly narrower feet, so this is not an unusual problem for me to run across when purchasing shoes.I bought these in the same size I wear in Nike running shoes and they definitely felt a little "roomier" than I expected. I have an average sized woman's foot - slightly narrower side, if you have wider feet these may work fine for you, but I don't love them. I also found them hard to run in (I felt like I was stomping on the ground - not a lot of support - not even for this type of shoe) and I wont even bother wearing them if there are double unders in the workout. As far as construction goes, they are made well, which is why I gave them 3 stars. I can see them holding up for a while and being able to take quite a beating without falling apart but for me they lack in functionality which is pretty important. Maybe they just don't work for my foot type but I would recommend trying these on first before buying them, if you can. I highly doubt I would purchase them again.I love the looks of these sneaks. But do not expect to comfortabley run in these. The heel is set very low to the ground for the purpose for added stability when lifting doing squats etc. You definitely have to get used to them. Also they fit about a half size smaller than normal. I got an 8.5 which is my normal shoe size but I should've got a 9. My toes touch the end.I purchased these for my wife. She’s a true size 9 in women, but always buys a 9.5 in Nike. They fit perfectly and have enough room for her to splay her toes in the box. She lifts and trains in the gym, and these shoes have already made a difference in leg day workouts. She says she feels more planted and gets full activation/isolation of the muscles necessary for each exercise. She also said it didn’t hinder her runs or jumping. They look good on her too!10+ year CrossFitter here. I wear Nike 5.0s and Do-Win lifters, but saw a great deal on these Metcon 2's, so I figured I'd try them. They fit well in the toe box and heel, but the sole was too stiff for me. I already have a pair of lifters I really like, but they're the old wooden/cork sole, so I wanted something a tad more flexible that I could do 400m-800m runs in as well as barbell movements. These are flexible, but way too stiff to be comfortable doing box jumps or any kind of runs longer than 50m. Also, the arch of the right shoe went across the entire shoe, not just the arch. It's like there was a speedbump in the middle of the shoe! I took the insoles out thinking something was folded under the insole, but there was nothing. I sadly ended up returning these - I wanted to love them, but they need a little more cushion to be doing true metcons.Fit well. Comfortable. .
